Dutch police probe Eritrean church abuse reports
Dutch police are probing newspaper reports that at least 20 young Eritrean refugees have became pregnant under suspicious circumstances after visiting at local Eritrean Orthodox church.
The media reports said there were suspicions that the women may have been victims of sexual abuse.
The Police said that At the moment they cannot confirm anything but it's certainly a strange story that warrants our attention and also stressed no criminal charges have beed laid.
Tewahdo board chairman Mr. Teklit Grimazion said that the Church's priests were "furious and shocked" by the allegations. it could not have happened here, Girmazion said, insisting that men and women worshipped separately.
A man left brain-dead after an experimental drug trial in France has died, local media report.
He was one of six people being treated in hospital in the city of Rennes.
The hospital said the other five remained in a stable condition - four had "neurological problems" and the fifth had no symptoms.
Reports that the drug was a cannabis-based painkiller have been denied by the French health ministry. The Paris prosecutor has opened an investigation
The trial, which involved taking the drug orally and has now been suspended, was conducted by a private laboratory in Rennes.
